About the scholarship
The Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies at Athens (IIHSA) is delighted to offer a new Myrto Georgakopoulou Memorial Scholarship.
More about the award: Dr Thomas Loughlin was our Assistant Director in Athens between 2009 and 2013 and together with his wife, Dr Myrto Georgakopoulou (1976-2022), contributed greatly to the development of the Institute during those years. Myrto was a well-known international researcher who specialized in archaeological sciences. We are deeply grateful to Tom and their daughter Nefeli for donating funds in Myrto’s memory, with the specific remit of supporting Irish students using archaeological sciences in their studies. The award is made annually from 2025.
